The only constant is change.
Change. New. Different. Change…. I used to say “I’m a change junkie”. I didn’t feel like I had really cleaned a room unless I had rearranged the furniture. Imagine how frustrating that was when cleaning the kitchen! I finally had to make peace with the stove and sink staying where they were.
If you don’t like something change it; if you can’t change it, change the way you think about it. ~Mary Engelbreit
May is the fifth month. My last work day was December 23, five months ago. Change.
More people move in May than any other month. A lovely, dear friend is moving soon. Change.
All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another. ~Anatole France
I am now facing another change. I’m planning to stay home for the summer. Yikes!
In the last few months I have had a fun flurry of travel that took me from Las Vegas – Seattle – Boston – Cape Cod – New York City – Ireland – Washington, DC to Northern California.
Now it’s time to, oh-my-gosh, change a whole bunch of stuff here, right here, at my desk, in my dresser drawers, on the kitchen counter, the top / middle / bottom of the closets and every other surface and space of my home. Change.
Change always comes bearing gifts. ~Price Pritchett
I am expecting many gifts to come from the changes I am going to make. More time and space for creativity to blossom. Taking bundles of clothes to that big yellow donation box down the street. Less angst about my clutter and disorganization. Donating things I’m not using to the Boys and Girls Club Thrift Store. Room to dance, etc.
Without change, something sleeps inside us, and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken. ~ Frank Herbert
OK, I am ready to awaken to something different, something changed, to growth, and exploration and discovery. Here’s to transformation, a shift, some modifications. Here’s to a change adventure!
